So, I Got Certified as a Menopause Coach

That was before hitting midlife myself, and then realizing no one has much of a plan for women beyond our reproductive years, other than to dry up and get out of others' way. Not modern mainstream culture (especially now), not the modern medical establishment, not our families, not even ourselves, if we’re being honest.
So I started reading everything I could about menopause (as well as the endocannabinoid system), listening to women every chance I got, and realizing that at our age, women are talking about this stuff all the time.
That’s why I recently completed the Menopause Coaching Certification program from Girls Gone Strong. Not because I want to coach people one-on-one or become a fitness influencer. But because I want to be sure that when I do speak, I’m speaking clearly, accurately, and from as much evidence-based science and lived experience data as possible.
What's in the The Menopause Coach Certification?
The Girls Gone Strong curriculum is one of the most comprehensive, evidence-based menopause trainings out there. It covers the physiology of hormonal change, but also the emotional, neurological, and physical impacts of midlife. It includes strength training, sleep science, bone density, metabolic shifts, sexual wellness, and nervous system regulation.
In other words, it doesn’t separate the pieces. It helps you understand the whole woman. That is what resonates with me the most.
Don't worry! I’m not going back to coaching pilates and running around to local gyms and studios. I'm not starting some new online service tier or anything. This is about always showing up more informed than the last time I listened, spoke, made a suggestion or sat down to formulate.

In general, in front of any audience, I think its safe to say that women deserve better answers than they get from most medical professionals today when asking questions about their bodies, moods, and more when it comes to menopause. So taking this course was about a deeper foundation for doing my part to help women in midlife stay seen, supported, and strong.
Another typical GenX experience, I suppose. Since nobody else has much of a plan for us going through menopause, we'll just keep on making one for ourselves.
